Hey,

I`m around 20 yrs old, looking for some nice places to relax and see in Liverpool.

Naturally, I`m a fan of the Beatles and wanna check out some places they`ve left their mark on.

Any cafes anyone can recommend and how much things cost would be great!

oh, and is it mostly a walking city or is there reliable public transportation?

thanks!

  1. There's nothing "natural" about it!

When people say that they are fans of The Beatles one naturally assumes that they must be over 60 year old.

  2. you can travel around a lot of the city on foot but there are loads of buses and trains if you want to get from one side of the city to the other. id recommend the beatles story in the albert dock and you might like the eddie rockets diner on bold street (just off the main shopping st in the city centre) cos its 50/60s themed but its basically a copy of an american diner so not really like the beatles at all...but i like it anyway haha!

  3. There are plenty of places in the city centre for a Beatles fan, the Cavern club naturally as well as several venues such as the Jacaranda bar which was used by the early Beatles as a base. There is also The Beatles story at the Albert Dock, and the newly opened Beatles themed hotel on the corner of Mathew St.

The Grapes Pub in Mathew St used to have a picture of the Beatles sitting in the chair below the picture which was a big favorite of tourists, but I have not seen it for several years since the pub was redeveloped.

There is a tour (called the magical mystery tour) which leaves from the Albert Dock in an identical coach to the one in the film, which visits the wider city area and all the boyhood homes, St James church in Woolton where Paul met John, Penny Lane, Strawberry Field etc.

There are plenty of nice pavement cafes in the Hope St area between the cathedrals, and close to LIPA (the Liverpool Institute for performing arts) Paul's old school.

The city centre is quite small and easy to get round, and public transport is cheap and reliable, you can get an all day bus ticket for £2.70
