Question:

Sightseeing in Brussels with a babypram/stroller?

We would be coming to brussels with our 20mnths old kid.. And we were confused about choosing a pram/stroller which would suite that city.

Would it be easy to use a pram on the buses and trains of Brussels.

Or do we need to fold it each and every time we get into a bus or a train or metro?

We have a big wheeled pram(which has a big basket, hood, etc) and a very simple pram(buggy).

Incase we need to fold it many times we would opt for the simple one otherwise the other one is good as it has its own advantages.

Kindly help with this..

Thankyou

  1. For Amsterdam, basically the city is pretty much walkable as long as the weather is good, so you don't need to hop on & off trams unless you want to.  I have two kids under 2 years old and just use the fast-metro into Amsterdam and then from there, walk to where I want to go with them

If you do want to use the trams there are enterances on ground levels so that you can push wheelchairs, buggys etc, but you have to be able to fold up a buggy if it is busy (as part of the rules of travelling with kids under 4 for free).  Also especially in the summer, the trams can get really packed, so I would say take the simple one to Amsterdam if you want to use the trams (and buses).

It's a few years ago since I went to Paris, and Brussels I went before the kids, so maybe someone else can help, but generally it is pretty much the same as I remember, publicn transport in the summer can be pretty busy with the influx of tourists, so best to stick to the smaller buggy style on in my opinion

    Have fun
