Hi guys, I am going on a business trip in Kilkenny, Ireland but I will probably have about one day off so I need some advice what is a must-see in the town. Also, does anybody knows a good pub/bar/etc. when one can have a beer or two in the evening after work :-)

Thanks in advance

  1. Heya! Ok so you'll have to see the Castle,it's on the parade and The Design centre is right across the road.Rinnucinnis is across from it too-really good food but expensive enough!

Go see The black abbey and St.Canices Cathedral, really close to each other on Dean St.

Don't miss the Cat Laugh's Comedy festival also!

Best pubs:Langtons Club, seems to be a must for most Irish tourists!

    Biddy Earlys/Morrisseys-Cocktail bars.

    The Field-Great Music!

    The Left bar-quiet drink,near Castle!

    Hope you have fun!

  2. my boyfriend is from kilkenny, you show go and see the castle and walk around the grounds , its lovely and really peaceful, there is also a tower called candices tower, you can climb up this its only 3E and ul get a great veiw of the hole city while up there, i dont know if the guinneas factory is closed down now or not but if it isnt closed yet then u will be albe to smell them brewing the guinneas and its great, if you have a car there is a place outside KK callled jenkinstown its a park and there are deers and lots of walks.

if u were going for a drink i recommend going to the bridge bar its right next to extra vision by the brigde its a reallyt friendly place and its got a huge outdoor smoking area ..perfect fotr the sunny evenings!

  4. In town the main attraction are the Castle and St.Canice's Cathedral. There are a lot of very good pubs and restaurants, my favourites are Lanigan's, Matt the Miller, Paris-Texas, but anywhere is good really.
