So I have been looking for a lens that is 70-300mm and a nice Wide angle for my new E410. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg for one. I have an adaptor to fit Nikon AF lenses. So I was wondering would this lens fit my E410.

I also found this Lens. It says it will fit the E410. So I was thinking this one would work.

But I do have the Apdaptor. Will the adaptor let me pick from more lenses. Maybe some used Nikon AF lenses? I am aware that with the adaptor the auto settings do not work. That's ok since I like to do things manually.

  1. Whether or not it will work I don't understand why you would want to buy a Nikon lens and use an adaptor when you can buy a lens made for your camera. Below are a couple of lenses made for your camera. The Sigma lens is about the same cost as the one you linked to and will give you an effective field of view of 110-400mm on your camera. Remember that your camera uses the 4:3 aspect ratio. The Nikon camera uses a 3:2. Also your camera has a crop factor of 2x so what ever focal length is on a lens you need to double it.

  2. To add to the above (great answer),  you might be expecting too much out of an adapter.

It's always best to have a clean fit, lens to mount.

An adapter is  not a bad idea if you're doing film, but with digi you might wreck your sensor.

(also, this is just food for thought, but if you run into any problems with your camera most camera manufactures will not honor a waranty if you've used a lens adapter)
