I am taking an ASL class to learn the language, but I'm confused with something.

What does "++" after a word mean? ( example: learn++)

and

What does DCL "hairstyle" or DCL "dribbles out" mean?

and # O K or # C A R?

  1. The character "+" after a sign means that you have to repeat the sign. For instance, help+ means you have to sign help-help, in your case learn++ means learn-learn-learn three times.

DCL means "Descriptive Classifier", they are not specific signs but you can describe them visually. In your case: DCL "hairstyle" you describe the specific hairstyle with your signing.

About the character "#" I'm not quite sure, but for the context looks like it means that you have to fingerspell the next # O K, do the fingerspelled letters "O" and "K".
