We are having an all chocolate dessert buffet at our wedding and need a cute poem to dress it up a bit. Any creative suggestions are welcome. I have seen some for candy buffets but this is all chocolate.

  1. I've said it before on this site and I'll say it again- enough with the cute poems already!!!!  Everyone on here wants a "cute poem" for this or that, and I speak for myself here but I'm sure others will agree with me- nobody likes CUTE POEMS!!  Just let there be a chocolate buffet without a sign, and assuming your guests are of average intelligence, they will get what they're supposed to do, which is eat chocolate.

If you REALLY are bent on putting some sort of sign, use this line from a song in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"-

"If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it.  Anything you want to, do it.  You can change the world, there's nothing to it."

  2. LOL

i dont have any cute poems offhand nor can i think of anyhting...BUT i think the idea is SUPER cute. I have never seen it done and i would be like "omg what a great idea" if i were to see it at a wedding! Go for it....  :)

  3. Make sure that the allergy information is listed separately from the poem - you'd hate for someone to skip through the poem (I do that, I just cannot read it as well in verse) and miss that there is contamination from something they can't eat.

  4. Here is a site that has poems that are all about chocolate:

Another idea might be to have some random quotes from movies/shows - like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Or a quote from the Simpson's when Homer imagines the land of chocolate...just an idea.   =)

Good luck. Hope you find what you are looking for!

  5. Hickory, chicory, choc,

The mousse was in the wok,

    The brownies rose,

    The ice cream froze,

    Hickory chicory choc.

I know, kinda corny lol but that's the only thing I could find!

  6. If you can find a poem about chocolate you like that would be great!  You could put that at a prominent place on the table then you could intersperse saying <see below> on little cards among the chocolate choices.  The following quotes were found at  http://www.virtualchocolate.com/quotes.c...  and you can find tons more there.

  7. If so many people want cute poems more people must apreciate them than fizzy thinks...  I happen to adore them  and I am of ABOVE average intelligence lol any way I don't know any offhand, but here's a site that has poems about pretty much everything I linked you to poems about chocolate.  Enjoy your sweet poetry :-)

  8. I like the idea of getting a quote from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (not the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- not really a happy movie) and the chocolate factory. The one fizzy suggested is actually nice, even though her rant was a little rough around the edges. I do think that some of the cute poems people seem to like come off as tacky/cheesey. Willy Wonka is whimsical but appropriate.

IMDB has a page full of quotes, obviously not all of them are appropriate but you may not find something there. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067992/quot...

  9. I agree with the overdose of cute poems.  Do you really need a poem for food?  A poem isn't going to "dress it up" but some pretty decorative bowls and things will.

Here's a photo of a beautiful dessert table-- it doesn't need a poem.

Here's a photo of an elegant dessert buffet. It doesn't need a poem either
