Signature on social security???help.?

Well i am getting my first job and i had to sign my social security card.

i am wondering if maybe you can get a new one later on...because my signature looked really crappy!

about how much is it?

  1. Don't worry about it.  Your SS card should be stored in a safe place anyway and is rarely needed.  Do NOT carry it around with you.


  2. you just go down to the SSA office and get a new one. I dont think they cost anything, maybe a couple bucks.

  3. Just call Social Security toll free @ 1-800-772-1213 and ask if you could get a new card.

  4. I believe the only way you can be issued a new one is if the one you have has been lost or stolen. They just won't reissue one based on bad handwriting unless it is very illegible..meaning you cannot make out what your name is I think. Good luck.

  5. No need to worry about the signature, as long as it can be easily read. Youcan get another one if you want at no cost You don't want to caarry it in your wallet,stick it in a drawer or some place handy.
