  1. I signed up for XC in middle school (being my first sport and i was horrible but i got better by running everyday) Ilove the sport and no it is not a mistake. ppl always to track && not XC cause they're not up for the challenge. I feel so pround to say i run XC when ppl ask me what sports i do. For the shoes go to models, Dic*s and Sports Authority to try on differnt brands of shoes (i like NIke but you make the choice) good luck && keep running =]

  2. New Balance or Adidas.

    Go for it man!

  3. No there is nothing wrong with that. For running shoes you should get nike or puma.

  4. You are definitely doing the right thing. Stick with it and you may be able to shed some pounds it will be hard and painful at first. Be sure not to slack on training in the off season. while in CC I ran up to 10 miles a day and did about 400 crunches and push ups a day. It is real hard work but with proper diet and some motivation you will see great changes. by the time you are 16 or 17 you should be a gr8 runner. You may not be the best now but if you stick with the program running will be easier and easier. By some light weight running shoe that breath easy and have good tread. If you are training right you will need to replace them in less that two months. Good luck

  5. It doesn't really matter how much you weigh. I've been beaten  by some people 3 times my size. It all depends on how fast of a runner you are and how much your willing to train. For running shoes I recommend asics.

  6. only you can say if it was the wrong thing to do. cross country is a tough season, but when you get through the tough workouts you will be able to say "i got through cross country".

not only does it make you a better runner for indoor & outdoor, it makes you a tougher athlete all together. also, to get into some colleges , XC in mandatory. so think about it,

about running sneakers, try asics, nike running, new balance, AVOID SNEAKER WITHOUT AN ARCH,  LIKE FLAT SNEAKERS

  7. whatever you decided would be okay. it will be a lot of fun, trust me, and you will have more endurance and will be stronger. With the shoes try asics, nike, avia, and shoes with good support and an arch.

  8. no i am 14 a was never a runner but i  tried XC for the first time and i ended up being one of the best on my team. Even if you aren't already in good shape running is one of the best things for you to keep in excellent shape and it teaches you to never give up. Asics are very good.

  9. no you did not mess up.  xc is a fun sport once you get into shape.  you'd better get a good base training down though (base training- long runs in before season starts), b/c once the season starts the speedworkouts begin and they're painful even for veteran runners.  shoes depend on your foot structure.  so far i have found asaics to be the best and most serious runners wear them.

have fun running- it really becomes enjoyable after a while

i used to hate running but now im running xc and track
