Simple words but such powerful appeal.

It articulated the disenfranchised blacks' cry to be heard and acknowledged as fellow citizens and equals under the US constitution.

It was like a clap of thunder that reverbrated in the psyche of the white mainstream. Many enlightened white leaders knew that the time had come for the crust of discrimination, at least in its institutionalised form, to be peeled off.

I believe those simple words are still reverbrating around in other parts of the world where the relevance of that powerful appeal still applies.

The courage to look at each other in a different light than what both Cultures had been previously taught. As in a new, raw degree of equality that they had never really encountered. It was an inspirational talk that had every listener dreaming of what MLK was talking about- imagine standing in that crowd, imaging what had been prescribed as 'impossible' by your own up bringing, believing that something that youve only considered because of MLK dream. It was the beginning of a new revolution.
