Significant passages in All Quiet on the Western Front?

for a school project i have to write personal response to four different little sections in the book. i already have one, but i need three more.... does anyone have any ideas?

  1. oh, it's been so long since I read that...um...let me think...

    I would choose the part near the beginning kind of where they there is heavy fighting, and the boy gets hit in the hip, and Kat wants to put him out of his misery. I think that part was pretty significant. It shows how ugly war really is.

    You might also choose the part when Kat dies, because that shows that he's suddenly alone, and he looses his best friend.

    And you can choose the part at the end, where he dies and it says that that day it was "all quiet on the western front" that shows that even when it wasn't bad, there were still people that died, and the war was still going on, and they need to be recognized too.

    hope that helped, sorry if you asked a year ago, I think I would have been more help, but I've read so many things since then I don't remember the book very well.

    One thing you might do, is go to sparknotes, and look at the analysis, that will show you the significance of each chapter, and it will make writing it a lot easier.
