  1. Canberra. Where the war memorial is because it represents what australia stands for.

  2. Kurnell, Sydney - where Captain Cook landed - the first white man to set foot on the east coast of Australia.

Sydney - it was the birthplace of modern, white Australia.

The Rocks, Sydney - the oldest settlement of Europeans in Australia, where the convicts first pitched their tents.

Ophir, New South Wales - where gold was first discovered in Australia, which brought vast wealth to the country.

Ballarat, Victoria - massive gold mines in this area made the country incredibly rich. More gold was taken from the ground in the Ballarat district than anywhere else on Earth. It was also the site of the Eureka Stockade, the one and only popular uprising in Australia's history back in 1854.

I'm sure other people will come up with many others.

  3. Lake Mungo. Because the archaeological finds there (at the time) changed significantly our view of the history of human habitation within Australia.

  4. ballarat victoria..... were the eureka stockade took place

glenrowan victoria...... were ned kelly was captured

taylors arm NSW...... if you have ever heard the song.... the pub with no beer.... the pub was in taylors arm (the song is a true story) but they have beer now. k.
