  1. You have to go through your Doctor,

who will decide if your illness makes you unfit

    to work.

Then If he does He Will give you a Certificate to Either give your Employer,or Allow you

to claim incapacity benefit. Though if you have not paid any work contributions to this you will

    not be entitled.

  2. When you sign on to receive Job seekers Allowance, you are doing so to verify you are available and actively seeking employment.

If you are unable to work for some reason, you would have to go to your nearest DSS with medical proof from your doctor that you are not fit for work and arrange to get benefits which suit your circumstances.

    Hope this helps.

  3. If you have an ilness and cannot work you dont sign on the dole. You will have to get a sick note of your doctor

Have a look at this website

    Hope you are better soon

  4. You don't, the dole is for unemployed people capable of and actively seeking work

You must claim Incapacity Benefit, and possibly Income support . You make a claim for both as Incapacity is paid on the basis of your NI history, if you haven't paid enough NI you will get Income Support instead of Incapacity Benefit if eligible

For Income support you must have saving less than 6000 and if you have a partner they must work less than 24 hours per week.

You need a sick line from your doctor

claim at your local jobcentre plus office or apply online at http://www.dwp.gov.uk/eservice/#

  5. so what did you do befor the illness. also if you are not well then you are not fit for work so you cannot sign on
