  1. your roof flies off of your house and you get sucked into the air and shredded by flying debri and smashed like a bug

  2. You need to stay tuned to NOAA or the Weather Channel or you local alert station.  There are many things that may warn of tornadoes but you have to be in the right place to see them or have the proper instrumentation.

A Watch means that conditions are favorable for the creation of a tornado.  A Warning means one has been spotted.

  3. Well, you want to watch for warnings. If the clouds are rotating, you need to seek shelter, there is a chance there is a tornado and it is rain-wrapped. This basically means it is hidden by rain.

  4. lol do u happen to live in san antonio in bexar county?  i heard tornadoes sound like trains. so if u hear a train. GET DOWN!

  5. This is the time right now to plan what to do for a tornado and make sure you have a NOAA weather alert radio The radios can alert you when a tornado warning is issued at night while sleeping.

A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop and you should pay close attention to the weather. A watch it typically issued with in 2-3 hours of the event.

When a tornado warning is issued that means doppler radar has detected rotation in a storm or trained spotters have spotted a rotating wall cloud, funnel cloud, or a tornado on the ground.

If a tornado warning is issued for your area, do not panic. Go to a place of safety. Go to the lowest floor of your house like the basement. Once in the basement get under a sturdy piece of furniture or go into a bathroom in the basement. If no basement is available go in to an interior room such as a closet. If that is not available go in to an bathroom without windows. Stay away from outside walls and windows. Cover your head to protect from flying debris. Never try to out run a tornado in a car, if cought in a car and can not take no place of safety, lay down in a ditch and cover your head. Do not take cover under a over pass. Do not stay in mobile homes as they do not offer protection and can be flown as easily as cars can.

  6. You can't count on this, but if there is a storm in your area, and you are also under a Tornado Watch, one of the clues that a tornado may be about to hit your house is hail.  The larger the hail the more likely a tornado is forming.

This is only one clue, and you can't count on it alone, but if you do start to see hail, it's time to gather up everyone and head to the basement, even if no Warning has been issued yet.

  7. If the clouds are already low, then it'll be hard to tell. You should move to the lowest floor of the house with a portable radio for updates. Bring some water, and some food, plus some pillows and blankets. You'll KNOW when there's a tornado, if there is one, you'll be able to hear it, not to mention see it. Sit away from windows and doors, and just stay tuned into the news.

  8. You should go into your basement and go in a room with no windows. Have a phone with you and cjeck the weather on your computer like check the radar because it shows the characteristics of a tornado. A tornado is a storm that developes in the same place. When it rotates a lot, it makes a tornado. Hope this helps. Good Luck. BVe safe.
