Question:

Silent auction question...?

I want to hold a silent auction to benefit my favorite charity, but doesn't it seem a little odd to have a silent auction just by itself? My original plan was to hold a benefit dinner, but I just don't have time in my schedule, and it's too difficult, considering I'm in high school. I don't have the money to fund a dinner.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I could host this auction without it being just an auction by itself? Any ideas on how I could actually go through with the dinner would be great too!

Any advice?

  1. 1. Dinner. Ask the charity for a list of supporters and contact them to do a covered dish dinner.

    2. Dinner. You could always make this a chili, potato salad or dessert contest. Everyone has favorites, just get some locally known people, preferably chubby, to be judges.

    3. Instead of food, you could make this a performance venue. Lots of garage bands, church and school choirs, etc. would appreciate a chance to show their talent.
