Silicone Nose Pad?

For some reason my right my silicone nose pad of my glasses turned blue today. The other side is still clear but slowly turning blue. What's wrong? (and yes. .. I will replace them) But is there any way to get rid of it ? What caused it? I sometimes wash my glasses with water....

  1. I wear glasses with these pads and that discoloration seems to be mainly cosmetic. They still are good and can last quite a while longer. The time to replace them is when they actually start falling apart..


  2. That's normal, the silicone pads don't last long.

    They absorb everything, from sweat , to natural body oils, to whatever you clean your glasses with.

    Once discoloration is in there, it can't be taken out either...they have to be replaced.

  3. It is just normal wear and tear and oxidation. You really can not remove it. Just replace them. We do not charge to do it, but some places do charge. I usually recomend changing them ever 3-6 months.
