Sergei Silkin has motivated Dynamo Moscow to do much better next season and has commented on Andriy Voronin’s likely departure
Dynamo Moscow head coach, Sergey Silkin, has assured the fans of a much better upcoming Russian Premier League campaign, and has urged the Moscow-based club to work harder next season.
Media reports in Russia suggest that Yuri Isayev, the Dinamiki president, wanted to sack Silkin, following the White-blues failure to win the Russian Cup. The Policemen failed to win the domestic cup after losing 0-1 against Rubin
Kazan at Yekaterinburg stadium.
The Moscow-based club, meanwhile, failed to secure UEFA Champions League berth, and will now test their fate in the UEFA Europa League after finishing 4th in the standings, in the recently concluded season.
Silkin, who retained his managerial post at Arena Khimki after a meeting with the board of directors, has summed up the overall season. Speaking about how the team will play in the upcoming season, Silkin expressed his delight
after ending conflict in the dressing room with certain players.
The Russian tactician has conceded that he was asked a host of questions by the board of directors and he tried to answer them wisely.
“Let us assume that the Louders had a good last season. But if you want a change in tactics in order to achieve results, we need to play attacking football.”
“I told what happened with the team at the meeting. To which, some members agreed and some disagreed. We might not look at the history and we need to move ahead.”
“Dynamo has fulfilled their task to secure European football this season. We need to have tactical flexibility and now it is necessary to build our game to get results.” The former Dinamo Minsk man was quoted as saying.
Commenting on Andriy Voronin’s likely departure, Silkin has conceded that the former Bayer Leverkusen player does not want to play for the Russian outfit and there is no point in keeping him at Moscow.
The Ukrainian striker, who has scored eleven goals from 37 league appearances, has expressed his desire to leave the Moscow-based club, earlier this month.
