I have 1 or 2 silkworms that are surrounded by silk and I don't know if they are in a coocoon or not. If they are, I should leave them alone. If they are not but stuck in silk...Should I break the silk?

  1. i think you should just leave them along because you don't want to mess with them if there in  a cocoon , and i seriously doubt there stuck if they are they can get them selves out.

  2. their silkyyyyyyyy

  3. No, don't break the silk they are trying to build their cacoons. They are fine and alive, just put more fresh leaves in there for them in case. Did you know that if you feed them with Mulberry leaves, they will spin pink silk? When I had tons of silk worms once, my mother cut out patterns for a ballerina dress for me out of cardboard and placed them flat on toilet rolls in the box, then the silk worms spun all over the patterns which my mom peeled off the cardboard and sewed the edges together to make a ballerina dress for me, then she took the photos of me wearing the freshly spun silk dress. How cool is that?!

  4. the silk is most likly its cacoon, i mean, thats usually what silk is made from, and i can;t think of a reason why a silkworm would produce silk if not fora cacoon, i suggest you let is stay, the chances are its in a cacoin. so jsut wait and you will find out!

but i think its really cool that you own silkworms and good luck

  5. it is their cocoons...so i guess they know how to get out by themselves...like all other butterflies....
