Silly season question...?

On NASCAR Radio, I heard something about speculation that Paul Menard was considering moving to Yates Racing (and of course, bringing Daddy's Money to the team as well)... what are your thoughts on this? How would this affect both Yates and DEI? Would you like to see Menard in a Ford?

I read something about that.... I am not really a Menard fan, so I don't think it's a good idea. I am a big fan of Yates Racing, I hope they can figure something out. They have slowly been getting better lately.

Menard should/will? stay at DEI. As a Menard fan myself I feel that he will stay at DEI for a little while. I think John Menard (dad) is trying to help Yates by sponsoring them. I really feel that Paul has a good chance of winning a race if he stays with DEI.

I've heard about Menards (sponsor) leaving for Yates, not Paul. But we'll see as silly season progresses.

Well Yates will finally get one full time sponsor on a car. DEI's taken a lot of hits sponsorship wise in the last 2 years, Budweiser, US Army, and Pro Bass Shops when Truex bails on them. They can't even find a full time sponsor for the 01 car as it is, let alone trying to find one for 3 or 4 cars.

Personally I would like to see Paul Menard in anything other than a cup ride.  I know that is not likely because his dad will continue to sponsor him as long as Paul wants to drive.  It would not surprise me one bit, I don't think DEI will be able to stay viable without Jr and now with the loss of Mark Martin.  When they lose Martin Truex Jr. they will officially be done even if they can field a few teams for another year or so.

Why does anyone care where Paul Menard gets all his money from. At least he's getting it. If you had a bunch of money wouldn't it make you proud to support your sons racing career in NASCAR? It doesn't hurt my feelings. I'm happy for the guy. If I was him I would stick around DEI for a while longer. He's got some good team mates there and he looks like he's doing O.K.

DEI is closing or selling. Menard is holding DEI together, when he leaves there is nothing left.

Menard is rumored to be a third team at Yates. John "billionaire" Menard will help get sponsors for the 28 and 38 while sponsoring his son.

i think it would be good for yates. but only if they start a 3rd team. cuase the 28 and 38 are pretty good in points. i would not take the car from them.

It would probably help Paul. Right now he's stuck with crappy cars at a crappy team. I don't care about what manufacturer Paul drives for, I'm a fan no matter what.
