ok, i know this may never happen being that dana white won't even let silva fight in a boxing match, but if they both agreed to a light heavyweight match, what do you all think the outcome would be?

  1. Well, lets see.

Fedor is a very very powerful striker. He dismantled Tim Sylvia in the opening seconds. He is also a submission expert. His last 13 fights ended in submission. Fedor's guard is one of the most dangerous in the game. He submitted Hong Man Choi with an armbar from guard. He is an excellent fighter and, in my opinion, tied with Silva, for best pound for pound in the world. Anyone who says he hasn't fought anyone decent, is completely wrong. He has beaten Mirko Cro Cop, Big Nog, Mark Coleman, and Heath Herring.

Silva possesses pinpoint striking and excellent Jiu Jitsu, earning his black belt from the Nog brothers. He has destroyed the middleweight division and James Irvin. His fights, with the exception of Dan Henderson and Travis Lutter, ended in the first round. He is devastating in the clinch and his knees are the most deadly in MMA, only Wanderlei Silva comes closest. He can also submit from his back, shown in his triangle-choke victory over Lutter. His striking is the most accurate, with out a doubt, in the game. He is the most dominant 185 pounder in MMA history.

If they were to fight at light heavyweight, there is one factor that would give Silva the edge- weight cut. Fedor has never fought under 220 lbs. As we have seen, first time weight cuts can affect heavily a fighter's game. We have never seen Fedor cut weight and therefore Silva would have the edge. All Silva would have to do is make it through the first round and eventually pick apart Fedor and wear him down.
