Manchester City’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Silva-c10601 has gone on to warn his team mates that a slip up at this point in the season could go on an end the team’s pursuit of winning the Premier League title this season.
City are currently sitting in the second spot with seven points separating them from Manchester United, who are sitting on top of the league table.
Silva is happy with the way things are going for the team, but he feels that the club can’t take things for granted at this point in time.
He wants everyone to stay focused and look forward to winning all their games, since any slip ups could mean that the team won’t go on to retain their Premier League crown this season.
When talking about the situation that the team find themselves in, Silva is reported is quoted to have said: "Yes, because if we lose, then suddenly the gap is 10 points and that is when it gets really difficult.
"But if we keep fighting we hope that they will falter.”
"All we can do, whatever the gap is, is keep going, every game, and put them under the pressure of knowing that if they lose a game or drop any points, we will get closer to them.”
"That works the other way, of course, too, because if we lose we will get further away, but we cannot think about that. We just have to continue as we are. The league is still there to be won."
The Spanish international also feels that City haven’t been exceptional in recent weeks, but it’s actually been down to their luck. He feels the team has been fairly decent, but they could easily go on and improve even further if they tried to.
"I think in the last few games it's not that we've improved particularly," Silva added.
"It’s just that we've had that touch of fortune which maybe we weren't getting earlier on, like in the United game, when they scored a lucky goal in the last minute.”
"We are playing well and doing the right things, and then we are getting those moments of good fortune going our way now."
