Silver Adonis leads market for Hunters’ Chase
Silver Adonis is leading the betting market for the high-voltage contest of May Fox Hunters’ Chase (For The Turner Family Trophy) that will be held at Fakenham racecourse on Tuesday, May 8.
The Dr Rickard Newland-trained grey gelding will be driven by Dr Richard Newland when the action begins at 4:30 (GMT). On the Good To Soft course of 3 miles and 110 yards, the veteran horse will run against Eleazar, Assassino, Prince Louis, Hurricane Carter
and Picabo Kid. A prize cheque of £1,021 is ready for the supposed winner.
Silver Adonis has won 8 out of his total 56 starts so far. The experienced horse excellently clinched top spot in his second last outing on March 16, 2012. He went ahead to finish 12th against 25 competitors in the very next race on April 12.
These two outclass performances have made the gelding a blue-eyed prospect of the bookmakers. Along with his inherent capabilities, the favourite tag is going to be an additional advantage for him.
If Silver Adonis runs to his best and manages to take an early lead, his chances to finish first in tonight’s marathon will be as high as 90 percent.
Among the other runners, Eleazar and Assassino are likely to do well in the Chase.
Eleazar excellent won a race each on April 25 and May 13, 2011. The Lucy Wadham-trained bay and brown mare moved on to finish 2nd in each of the two subsequent races. As a whole, the 36-race veteran runner has 8 triumphs to his name.
On the other hand, Assassino has won 5 out of his total 39 starts. The J. M. Turner-trained bay gelding grabbed a runner-up rank on April 25, 2011 followed by a classic victory on May 3. He looks to be strong enough on the card.
Though the competition will be tough enough but Silver Adonis is likely to dominate his rivals convincingly. The race is supposed to have many twists. Let us enjoy an amazing action and see who manages to carry the day. Good luck to all the contestants.
