Silver Bullitt taken to trounce Daruband and Switchback in Glenfiddich Handicap at Kempton
Silver Bullitt did show up with an improved act on his first start for Gary Moore, and he can continue the fine work to crush opposition in the Glenfiddich Handicap at Kempton on Wednesday, October 24, 2012.
After facing two terrible defeats at the start of this season, the 4-year-old finally put things in order early last month. By beating King’s Masque by a length’s distance at Lingfield, the son of Proclamation registered his first win of the season.
Currently owned by Dahab Racing, the gelding joined Gary Moore’s yard in mid September. Wasting no time, he kicked off his journey for the new camp on a winning note.
The Club Revenge Brighton Handicap at Brighton saw him imposing a 1½-length defeat on Renegotiate. It was really a fascinating act, and the improvement was quite evident.
He went clear when veered sharply left under pressure 1f out. After getting into command, he ran brilliantly to ensure the first rank with plenty of ease. Following an excellent show, Silver Bullitt is in terrific shape.
The Overbury Stallions Ltd-bred is facing a hard rivalry in this battle, but still nothing goes against him. We expect the in-form gelding to get the better of Daruband and Switchback, who are surely two dangerous runners.
Daruband was second on his last start at Lingfield. Michael Bell’s charge recently ran a few very good races in defeat. Following last week’s good run, he seems to have claims of revising placings.
Switchback does not have the odds in favour. But he is running well of late, and should give a good account here. The Michael Easterby-trained is stepping into this contest after running a couple of fine races at Wolverhampton.
Silverware ran well last time, but not guaranteed to reproduce it. Similarly, L´hirondelle, who returned to the winning ways last time, is unlikely to come up with an equally great effort. Abigails Angel, however, is a consistent sort, who can play a significant role.
According to our calculations, Daruband is the biggest threat to Silver Bullitt. But considering the way the latter is performing these days, it is not hard to expect him to thrive. The race is due to get started at 21:20 GMT.
