Silver Frosting??? how to make?

I want to make chocolate covered strawberry's with the number 25 in silver on them foe a 25th anniversary. i have some silver dust stuff that i dont know how to use..i heard something about adding vodka to it...how much...how would i do it, do i mix it with something else....

  1. Your best bet is to pipe the 25's on with royal icing, let it harden and then paint it with a mix of the silver luster dust and vodka.  Just mix small amounts of each (I use a dropper to add vodka to luster dusts so I can control the amount) and paint with a paintbrush that's never been used for real paint.  If you just paint directly on the chocolate, it's not going to show very well.

  3. You just add enough vodka to make a "paint" type consistency. Add small amounts & stir, you can always add more as needed.

You would create a paint with the silver dust stuff and the vodka.  You have to make sure the strawberries are completely set and dry and you wont be able to put them in the fridge afterwards.  Maybe buy some small plastic 25's and stick them on while the chocolate is still setting....oh but then you would have dumb people choking all over the place.
