Silver Lime to shine in the Sky Bet Mobile Stakes (Handicap)
The Class 2 Sky Bet Mobile Stakes (Handicap) has pulled together a rather interesting field for the mile and four furlong race on Friday, 24th August at York. Participating in the race are twenty contestants who three-year and above and are trying their luck for claiming the £19,407 prize money of the race.
The most promising entry for the race is the three-year-old, Silver Lime. The bay colt has divided the wins and the misses equally among the four outings that are spread over two seasons.
The American bay colt missed the first chance at breaking the maiden and made the most out of the second chance. He was entered as the favourite in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes on 11th September, 2011 at Ffos Las over a mile.
Silver Lime won the race by the mere head’s margin while riding with jockey, Martin Dwyer.
Silver Lime ranked fourth initially and with the final two furlongs remaining, paced up. He stayed strong and was finally able to lead just near the line.
Finishing the closest to the winner was, Journalistic.
Mizzen Mast’s bay colt qualified as the runner-up in the Hazel Wigley Memorial Stakes (Handicap) on 24th May, 2012 at Goodwood over a mile and a furlong. Beaufort Twelve won by the margin of short head while riding with jockey, Harry Bentley.
The Roger Charlton trained won the Betfred Mobile Lotto Stakes (Handicap) on 2nd August, 2012 at Goodwood over a mile and three furlongs. Entered as the favourite, he did not pace up initially but with the final two furlongs of the race to go, the three-year-old out of, Red Dot, became prominent.
He countered the challenge by shifting towards right and then staying strong for the final decisive strides that got him the race even if by an almost negligible margin.
The 6 to 1 entry for the race will be ridden by jockey, James Doyle, today and the two will race out of the sixteenth gate.
He will need to look out for John Biscuit, Expert Fighter and Willie Wag Tail.
