Silver Max to glimmer in the Secretariat Stakes
Three on the line-up of the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes have posted success through the graded stakes that they took part in most recently. The mile and two furlong race will be held at Arlington Park on Saturday, 18th August has attracted eight three-year-old runners. They have turned for the £189,677 prize money. Quite a few entries have visited the winners’ enclosure the very last time when they raced.
The three-year-old bay colt, Silver Max, shines the brightest among the contestants today.
If he wins today then it will be for a seventh time that Silver Max will win in a row. He has been active eight times during the new season and has lost only one race, the Grade 3 Holy Bull.
After winning a claimers on 9th March, 2012 at Gulfstream Park, the Dale Romans’ trained bounced back into form and won the Grade 3 Transylvania Stakes on 6th April, 2012 at Keenelend over 1 1/16 miles. It took him a minute and :41.81 seconds to make it across the wire.
He was followed by Travel Advisory while taking up the third position was, State Of Play.
The connections then saw the luck of Silver Max shining in the Grade 2 American Turf on 4th May, 2012 at Churchill Downs over 1 1/16 miles. He defeated Travel Advisory by timing the race in a minute and :41.10 seconds.
Badge Of Silver’s son achieved beyond hat-trick by winning the Arlington Classic on 26th May, 2012 at Arlington Park over 1 1/16 miles. It did not take him more than a minute and :41.87 seconds to reach the other end of the race.
After bagging the Oliver Stakes at Indiana Downs, the three-year-old got entered in a graded race. He won the Grade 2 Virginia Derby on 21st July, 2012 at Colonial Downs over 1 ¼ miles. After two minutes and :04.05 seconds of racing, Silver Max had the race credited against his name.
The 11 to 4 entry for the race will be paired up with jockey R. Albarado for the race and the two will break from the last gate on the track.
