I drive a 2007 Chrysler Aspen. Well today the silver paneling on my driver's side door got scraped a bit....the silver came of and now it's exposing a white plastic underneath. How do I go about getting this fixed or is there a paint I can use to touch it up. It's only scraped on this silver side paneling on the very end but I love my car and keep it in tip top shape so this is driving me nuts. Just wondered how I can fix it. Any help would be great!

Thanks!

XOXO

  1. If its not a deep scratch you should try to buy some polishing compound from the nearest auto parts store. You can sometimes buff it out by applying the polishing compound and a soft cloth. But if this doesn't work you need to try the next step....

Consider going to the dealer to get the right touch up paint. See if you can get it with an applicator brush. They usually sell it in spray cans- but sometimes they sell it in little bottles with an applicator brush. That is the best way to go for a scratch touch up. But in your case you only can find it in a spray can you will need to apply it with a cheap artist paint brush- smaller brush works the best. Buy a pair of rubber gloves that you don't mind ruining. Put the gloves on and Spray the paint into the spray can cap lid or use a coffee can. You want to make sure all of the paint goes into the coffee can cause it will make a mess of your shirt if the wind blows it around. Know that the paint will dry very fast so apply it quickly using the cheap artist brush and dab the paint and apply the paint to the scratch. You may need to apply a couple of fine coats for it to look right. Be sure not to glob it on! Repeat thin coats will work the best.
