Silverton Blaze wins The Swindon Stayers Bags race at Swindon
The black dog, Silverton Blaze, nicely won the Grade OR The Swindon Stayers Bags, at about 685 metres, at Swindon track yesterday, January 11. The dashing hound demonstrated offensive attitude coupled with immense spirit.
The trainee of M Walsh impressed the local bookies by beating the most favourite runner, Crinkill Jewel, in the event which started at 20:52.
Just a moment before the break call, nobody could imagine that, Silverton Blaze, would out finish all of his competitors, and win the event with a huge margin of 2 ¾ lengths.
The son of Kinloch Brae broke from trap 5, rushed ahead with sheer force and led all in blink of an eye. Both the spectators and the bookies were taken by surprise to witness, Silverton Blaze, set the track ablaze.
Silverton Blaze did not let his speed or stamina go down for even a single moment, and reached the finish line in 41.57 seconds. Walsh was himself surprised to see the run his hound conjured up.
It was the third consecutive and fifth overall first position by the racer, who commenced his career in July 2011, at the same venue. The victorious dog was whelped in August 2009.
Breaking from Trap 6 with a tag of the most favourite hound based on the standard price of 5 to 4, Crinkill Jewel, badly failed to defend herself against the aggressive approach of Silverton Blaze. The white and black b***h started well, but wasn’t
able to perpetuate her momentum, and trailed by 2 ¾ lengths that was quite unbelievable for both her trainer and the bettors.
The daughter of Dixies Model completed the distance in 41.79 seconds. It was just the second race of the b***h, who made her debut on December 22, 2011 at Hove. Whelped in October 2009, she is trained by R Hutton.
Afan Angeleyes was the runner to finish third in the race. The b***h seemed to be rather slow from the very beginning, and did not even try to fight for excelling others. Reaching the finish line in 42.75 seconds, she lagged 12 lengths which was a
huge margin in 685m category.
The trainee of C L Andrews broke from trap 2. Whelped in August 2008, she ran for the first time in this category.
Silverton Blaze bagged the 1st prize worth of £150. The second prize of £25 went to Crinkill Jewel while each of other four hounds got £20.
