The full-back reiterated that by signing the Dutchman, Manchester United will be able to keep Patrice Evra on his toes and an eye on the future as well.
Mikael Silvestre has recently made his return to Old Trafford in a temporary capacity, as he looks to train and maintain his fitness levels before signing for another club this January.
The one-time French International made his name whilst plying his trade in Manchester but moved on in later years as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231 strengthened his case as one of the best left-backs in the world.
However, a lot has changed since then and Evra is no longer the same performer he once was. Keeping this in mind, Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753’ International  repaid the tactician’s faith with a brilliant debut against Wigan Athletic last month.
With Buttner looking to challenge for a regular role in the team, Evra’s position has come under threat and according to Silvestre this can only leave to something positive, as both will try to better each other in the pitch.
Speaking to reporters, the Frenchman claimed that although his fellow compatriot had been performing to the best of his abilities in the last few seasons, the constant game time had taken a toll on his body and now he needed competition to motivate him.
"Patrice has been there and has been solid in this role, but there hasn’t been any cover for him so he has played a lot of games for United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. That has demanded a lot of Patrice and it is important to keep the players on their toes and to have fresh legs. There are so many games so you need to rotate at some point. Especially because United full backs do not just sit back and defend, they go and attack and provide width too.”
Also talking about his own life, Silvestre commented that he was in the process of finding a new club and if he did not, he could possibly retire from the game.
“I keep thinking about what I will do when I stop playing but I am not sure. Football is my life of course, but I don’t know in which position or area I might stay on.”
