The Nerazzurri sporting director believes that Inter Milan must sort out their summer exits before buying any more players; admits interest in Sao Paulo’s Lucas.
Marco Branca has distanced himself from Palermo’s optimism regarding the deal of Matias Silvestre, and has stressed that the negotiations could be put on hold to make space for more pressing matters.
The Aquile President Maurizio Zamparini recently stated that the deal regarding the Aquile defender is almost done, and the player could be expected to move to San Siro in the near future.
Branca was appreciative of the Eagles patron’s enthusiasm regarding the deal, but stated that the deal still has a lot of way to go before it can be called final.
The Nerazzurri are looking to build a younger squad, and the sporting director was adamant that before the club’s considers adding more players, it should sort out the players that will not be required for the next season.
While talking to the press, the 47-year-old said:
“I appreciate the optimism of Zamparini, but the Silvestre operation is not ‘99 per cent complete’. First, we must settle with other players who would like to leave the squad because they would not find space with us next season.”
Branca has aroused the importance of financial austerity at the club, which is struggling to strike a balance between incomes and expenditures.
The Nerazzurri transfer chief stated that he respects Andrea Stramaccioni’s wish to sign Sao Paolo’s Lucas, but maintained that the player’s acquisition will be conditional to a good price.
The Beneamata chief stressed that the financial position of the Milan outfit calls for cautious spending, and insisted that the club will have to give a lot of thought to the idea before making a move for the Brazilian.
Branca admitted that the cuts in spending will be an unpleasant move for the fans, but maintained that the measures are important for the Nerazzurri’s bright future.

Stramaccioni has formerly stressed that seeing the Brazilian play under him will be like a dream come true.
