Sim cards for sidekick LX?

can the sidekick lx take regular sim cards instead of there sim card from t-mobile. for example can it take rogers sim card?

well i had the sidekick lx i personally think its a kinda sucky phone  still

--ill tell u what i do know about it tho

they make it virtually impossable to use ur own ringtones u have to do a sneak attack and send a 100k size .wav files thru email or text and try to set it as ring tone weather this method from sk3's still works or is an issue idk i had my sk lx for a week b4 i sold it

the internet is slow as **** on the lx compared to say any other pocket pc - it is how ever slightly faster then a sk3

side kick 3's used what was called a danger webserver- u know how u store ur pic on ur phone and stuff u can log into my tmobile see some of those pics and all ur notes and stuff on thier virtual desktop cool kinda.. but even if u sell ur lx and change the user names on it ur password and email and pics and notes stay online with tmobile but only thrue the danger webserver danger made sidekick so tmobile uses thier server for data thru gprs for the phones - this fact right there makes it virtually impossable to have data services with an unlocked sk3 using say att theres no way to setup prefences now as for the lx it lets u use custom email accounts and all but this still makes me unsure if to weather all its features would work on another carrier even if it was unlocked ud never gain acces to the downloads area again therefore never getting a new game or ringtone i personally veiw this phone as not worth the trouble but for some who are constantly using im programs and email it pretty much the perfect choice because it keeps u logged in it does this because u never ever ever shut the phone off it goes low on battery and goes to stand by turns off but its still got juice  up untill u charge it ----

now like i said using the sk3 for another service provider useless almost very useless i dont even think u can get it togo in the internet because'''' it must connec tto the danger webservers and it wont do that if ur not using tmobile --

making it nothing more then a phone with txt --cause u cant do data to send a pic

now if this has changed with the lx ver i dont kno but i wouldnt think so , or else ud see tons of people using them on att and i havnt personally heard of any one doing that really --- althou tmobile did team up with motorola to make the sidekick slide is made by motorola if u get one of those theres a chance u can get it unlocked and have it all working but i doubt that too cause the sidekick slide was like the ugly stepchild of the family and infact motorola didnt even test it very good the 1st couple thousand slides would turn themselves off everynow and then from a glich when u slide the screen up and down ...

------so yes u can get it unlocked but  id make sure all ur phones features work on another carrier dont just listen to what every punk tells u they will tell u anything to get ur biz somtimes

if money and signing a plan is the problem get tmobile flex pay as you go its the same fricken thing as a contracted service plan only u save 5 bucks aside for if u go over ur mins and u pay ur total monthly dues at day 1 instead of being prorated and charged at the end of every month its actully pimp - only draw back is if u dont have ur own phone they want you to pay msrp for a new phones price but if u bring ur own phone to them they charge u i think 45bucks give u ur simcard and wahla ur set buddy

the sim card has to be a tmobile sim card- that is activated.

other sim card dont work because they are from different service providers

It will only take T-Mobiles SIM card unless the phone has been unlocked.

You may get an unlocked Sidekick LX off eBay or Craiglist.com.

So that means make sure you buy an Unlocked Sidekick LX for it to work with your Rogers SIM card.
