Colombian international striker, Radamel Falcao, is considered as one of the top players of this current generation. A true number 9, the traditional striker is often placed in the same elusive bracket as Real Madrid forward Cristiano
Ronaldo and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296.
It was a story behind the curtains, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero sealed all the headlines when he completed a famous move to English giants Manchester City. Very few had then realised that Atletico Madrid had replaced the once worshipped
“Kun” with an even better prospect in the name of “El-Tigre”.
Falcao burst on to the stage after his hugely successful stint at Portuguese outfit http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186. The striker led his former side to a host of valuable silverware as he marked 2010 as one of the best seasons that the Portuguese side
had ever had.
The Colombian scored 38 goals for his side in all competitions that term and led them to a famous treble, landing all, the Portuguese top division title, the Portuguese Cup and the UEFA Europa League crown.
Falcao’s performances immediately attracted interest from fellow European bug guns and it was Atletico who realised his massive potential and paid an equal amount of fee, as they deemed his talents worth.
The striker has kept up his phenomenal goalscoring rate and is now 2nd in La Liga’s top scorer’s charts, only trailing Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.
Atletico’s manager knows that they have a valuable asset and has now again emphasized that his presence means so much to the current Rojiblancos team.
"Falcao is crucial [to Atletico] and he has progressed a lot," Simeone acknowledged in an interview with the newspaper The Spectator. “He never tires of creating goals. It’s crazy.”
"I had never seen such desire, because he has a hunger, a need for improving and becoming better. He knows that this is his strength, such is his forcefulness to succeed."
Simeone added that he considers Falcao "the best" attacker he has ever coached.
Atletico are currently 2nd in La Liga’s title charts and chase leaders Barcelona by 9 points.
