The Atletico Madrid manager has voiced his views on the Spanish domestic league and insists that it is unequal, rather than being dull
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, has brought great success to the Spanish capital’s side since the start of the current campaign.
The Argentine manager is already considered as one of the best to have ever taken the hot seat at the Rojiblancos and shed some light over his past comments, which he believed were misinterpreted.
Simeone had previously stated that La Liga was dull and boring and the media made a version of their own on the matter, as usual.
Atletico Madrid have been the surprise package for the season in Spanish top flight and are currently poised at 2nd place in La Liga charts.
The capital side have always lived under the shadow of fierce city rivals Real Madrid, but this season has been a welcome one for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Calderon faithful, as they are above their bitter rivals.
Atletico are very much in the title race and Simeone’s main weapon, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276 stated earlier that the Liga is now a two horse race, while writing off Real Madrid’s title aspirations.
Atletico are currently 9 points behind table toppers Barcelona and hold a 7 point lead over Los Blancos.
Simeone corrected his previous version of comments by stating that the two big guns, i.e. Real Madrid and Barcelona have immense spending capabilities, and that renders the league inequality.
"Since 2004, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 were Champions, the title has only gone to Barcelona or Real Madrid. That's an undebatable fact. They win it and the rest are miles behind, but it's not boring. The football is good.”
"I was trying to make the point that the league kills the dreams of fans who hope that one day their team could be champions. The huge budgets of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Real Madrid make for a vast difference."
"Sadly, other fans can't dream," he said. "Barcelona's current campaign is stunning. I wouldn't say it's impossible to catch them, but the numbers are what they are, they don't lie."
Atletico have also sealed their progression to the next round of UEFA Europa League under their star manager.
