  1. I tried my infant, who is 5 weeks old on this formula. It is awesome. Her p**p went from dry hard stools to normal breast-fed stools. She also has less gas. I had tried her on the Similac Sensitive but it gave her the runs. The only reason I tried her on this was because it was from the same family of products that she had originally been on. I am not sure about her immune system but I can say that for what its worth as far as gas and her stools I'll pay for it. Wic gives me only the advance however and I doubt they will give me this one. The price is the same cost as the regular advance. I'd recommended the Similac due to babies love the taste over the Carnation Good start.

Also she had breast milk for a week but due to surgery I was unable to continue because I never got a strong milk supply. This isn't to say the regular similac wasn't a good formula as she was thriving and growing, but I was mostly concerned with her gas and constipation issues which was why I switched. She has been drinking this for about a week. I am looking for a part time job just so that I can pay for this milk because it is worth it

  2. I was wondering this myself.  I think it has more than the prebotics in it though that is suppose to help the immune system.  I know alot of people do think the natural cultures from nestles does help with the immune system, so i would think this might too.  I know my ped in general likes similac and enfamil over nestle because they get way more data/research from similac and enfamil.

  3. I am not very familiar with these types of formula, but it sounds like they contain probiotics.  Probiotics are very good at strengthening the immune system.  They also help regulate the digestive system and maintain a healthy balance of beneficial intestinal flora.  I am not sure about the amount of bacteria in each serving, though.  I give my son (3 months old) probiotics every day and I do feel that I have noticed a decrease in fussiness.  Also, before I started giving them to him, his p**p was green most of the time, which my husband's mom said happened to one of her kids because he had a "sour stomach".  Since I have been giving them to him, his p**p has been a normal color and consistency.  The brand I use is made by a company called Nature's One.  You should discuss this with your pediatrician, but I spoke with 2 pediatricians at my son's office and neither of them had a problem at all with me giving them to him.  There have also been studies done that suggest probiotics are helpful with easing symptoms of colic, which I believe since my son has definitely seemed happier and less fussy since being started on them.
