I know it's either a or c. Except I don't really know the difference between a population and species. I know species is a much larger picture, but i still need help...

A population (in layman's terms) is the number of a certain type of organism within a given area or habitat, for example, the population of tigers in China or the number of human beings on a continent or on the earth. Population is the amount of individual specimens of an organism; species is what makes one type of specimen unique from every other type of specimen on the earth.
