  1. The Islamic fighters held in Gitmo were bearing arms and not wearing uniforms. They have neither the protections normally accorded criminals nor those accorded uniformed soldiers under arms.

I'm not sure which you're wanting to compare them to: the American relocation camps to which Japanese and Japanese Americans living on the west coast were sent in WW II were a temporary and prophylactic wartime measure that bore the internees no malice. The Japanese themselves, on the other hand, saw their detanees as not worthy of any consideration. The Japanese killed over twenty million Chinese civilians in the war, and at its end the number of Chinese prisoners in Japan still alive was under a hundred.

  2. The Japanese internment camps were established to imprison ALL Japanese living in America including those who had lived here for several generations.  They were established out of fear.

The prison at Guantanamo Bay is housing those persons suspected of directly causing terrorist acts against the United States or it's Armed Forces worldwide.

  3. Guantanamo is filled with people that have tried to kill us / members of Al Queda.    Japanese internment camps were a tragedy of mistrust and there was no excuse for them being treated how they were.

I am not a fan of Guantanamo but the comparison you make is not valid.

  4. The prisoners of Guantanamo Bay were captured in the act of bearing arms against the forces of a Sovereign Nation, while they themselves were NOT forces of a Sovereign Nation.  Therefore, they are guilty of at least attempted murder.  People who attempt murder go to prison.

A different standard applies to soldiers under orders.

    Grow up.
