FC Augsburg goalkeeper Simon Jentzsch has been sidelined on the treatment table due to a new finger injury, and will miss out all the Bundesliga action until the New Year. The injury has been described as freak because of its nature
and the player is hoping to get back to full fitness by the start of 2013.
The shot-stopper is ruled out for almost six weeks, and has spent two long lay-offs with the same injury in the past year. He has sustained this problem the third time in the calendar year. He expressed his frustration over the
persistent injuries and is concentrating on getting back on the playing field really soon.
The 36-year-old stated that it is really sad to suffer yet another mishap. However, he stressed that he will be hoping to recover as soon as possible and regain full fitness in order to stage a comeback in the team.
"It's a freak, bitter blow for me. But I see the most important thing for me is to return to full fitness and health. I will be out until the end of the calendar year," the former Karlsruher, 1860 Munich and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 player
was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the club general manager Jurgen Rollmann believes that coach Markus Weinzierl should not worry about his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 as team trainer. Augsburg are currently sitting at the bottom of the league table, following their
3-1 defeat against Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund.
"You could maybe feel it's time to question the manager if the team had lost 9-0 without any fight or resistance,” he mused.
"But after a performance like this (against Dortmund), there is no use to question the future of a manager," he finally concluded.
Jurgen claimed that the team did not lose by a massive margin and also put up a spirited fight against the BVB. Therefore, Markus’ position as coach is safe in the near future. Augsburg travel to Eintracht Frankfurt on the weekend.
