Former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glamorgan-c784 and will play in six LV = County Championship matches for the club in 2013 county season.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jones-c69217, who will turn 34 on Christmas day, was part of the Ashes winning England squad in 2005. However, he has not played international cricket since then due to the knee problems he has suffered ever since rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament during an accident in Brisbane in 2002.
Since then, the right-arm seamer has been involved almost solely in one-day cricket. He has played only three first class matches since 2008, including the one for Glamorgan against Derbyshire last season.
The right-armer, who started his first class career with Glamorgan in 1998, left for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789. His time on the south coast was plagued by the knee injury, as he could play only two first class matches for Hampshire before returning to the Sophia Gardens last summer.
With the club looking to fill the void left by England http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Middlesex-c817, Jones agreed a deal to play six four-day matches for Glamorgan in 2013.
"I've agreed to do these four-day games because I don't want to leave anything in the tank," said Jones while speaking to BBC Radio Wales. "It's a continuous thing, looking after my knee. I have to do the right preparation and rest up properly. It's hard work but it keeps me playing the game I love so it's not a hardship," he added further.
The recurring knee injury restricted Jones’ Test career to just 18 appearances, which saw him picking up 59 wickets at an average of 28.23. However, after staying away from Test cricket for more than seven years, the Glamorgan seamer now feels he can manage his workload in the longest format of the game as well.
"I still feel I've got a couple of years left in me...that's why I've agreed to do these four-day games," Jones said.
"I’ve to play six four-day games and obviously a number of one-day games as well, which I'm backing myself to do. It's the best I've felt in a long, long time," concluded the right-arm medium pacer.
