Simon Katich to play Big Bash for Perth Scorchers – Cricket News Update
After getting his contract dismissed by Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 (CA), the classy Aussie batsman, Simon Katich, decided not to give up and aimed to display a fantastic show in the domestic competitions.
Although, Katich is leading http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 in first-class cricket, he chose not to play the ambitious Twenty20 League, Big Bash, with either of the two Sydney-based teams, Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers.
However, it has been confirmed that after a decade, the left-handed opener will return to his hometown, Perth, and play http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Richard-Griffith-c41953 Bash for Perth Scorchers.
Katich’s record in the shorter version of the game has been impressive as he has played 52 Twenty20 games, scoring 1239 runs at a strike rate of 127.73.

Along with Katich, the Western Warriors' skipper, Marcus North, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942 is also committed to play for the Scorchers with subject to availability.

The Twenty20 league is scheduled to be held in the December 2011. Although, the chances of Aussie Test cricketers taking part in Big Bash are not very bright due to busy international schedule, every team has been trying hard to bring big names in the line-up
to make their side stronger.
