Simon Kjaer delighted with move to AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 – Bundesliga news
Former Palermo defender Simon Kjaer has expressed delight after joining Serie A side AS Roma from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 this summer. The player was continuously linked with the Roman outfit as the Giallorossi were seeking a replacement for Philippe Mexes, who has
tied knots with AC Milan.
The defender has been assured of the first team chances in Italy but will have to justify his worth in order to retain his place in the starting XI.
Kjaer’s transfer is reportedly worth 10 Million Euros, though neither club have issued an official statement regarding the final transfer amount. The centre-back seemed pleased with the transfer and is optimistic that he would do well in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926.
The Danish international had come under criticism on a few occasions while playing for Wolfsburg. The player was recently involved in a horrible mix-up that resulted in an equalizer for Borussia Monchengladbach. Die Wolfe eventually ended up losing the game
4-1.
Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath confirmed about the player’s departure from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. He reckons that the defender needs to improve on his fitness in order to maintain his place in the starting XI. Magath wished his former centre-back success with his new
journey as he prepares to look for Kjaer’s replacement prior to the close of the summer transfer window.
While talking to the local newspaper, the 22-year-old further enthused, "Felix Magath has told me that I will be allowed to leave and that I can enter negotiations with other clubs. It was my personal wish to stay at VfL, but I'm also pleased with this outcome.
A return to Italy can be a done deal any hour now. Roma are a great club. Joining them is a big opportunity for me. I don't have to adapt to new surroundings as I'm already familiar with Italy and Serie A."
This won’t be a new experience for Kjaer in Italy as the player has previously represented Palermo for two years (2008-2010). At Wolfsburg, Kjaer bagged a solitary goal from 32 league appearances before signing off from Volkswagen Arena.
