Simon Kjaer desperate to win next Rome derby for the fans and apologises for his red card
The villain of the Derby de Capitale, Simon Kjaer, has insisted that he will win the next Rome derby for A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603.
Kjaer picked up a red card in the early minutes of the second half and his foul resulted in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 equaliser in the 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Biancazzurri. The defender is still upset with the sending off which proved to be decisive in the outcome of the match and wants to make up for his error by winning the next derby for the fans.
The 22-year-old believes that he was harsh done by the red card and the referee could just have given a foul.
“The referee could give the foul, I guess. It wasn’t a huge foul, but I did stretch out my arm and Brocchi was clever, as he turned to the right as soon as he felt contact on his left arm. Seeing that, the official awarded the penalty and flashed the red card that effectively ended the game.”
The former Wolfsburg defender is upset for the fans and has apologised to them for his mistake in unarguably the most important game for them.
The Danish star admitted that he has gone through a very difficult phase since the defeat but has thanked his family for their support in recovering him. Kjaer wants to put the incident on his back and is focused for the club’s next game against Palermo on the coming Sunday.
“It was a bad time for me and two really tough days. Fortunately, my family helped me get through it. I was above all upset for the fans who cared so much about this very important game, but now I feel better. We have to look ahead to beating Palermo.”
Kjaer joined the Giallorossi on-loan in the summer from German side, Wolfsburg, and has gone on to make three appearances for the Roman club thus far. The Danish international has found the life tough at the club and has picked up a yellow and a red card in his brief stint at the Stadio Olimpico Rome so far.
