Simon Knutsson overpowers Lubos Petrovsky to surge into Men’s Singles main round at Slovak Open 2012
Sweden’s Simon Knutsson showed a great performance and advanced into Men’s Singles main round after showing exit to local shuttler Lubos Petrovsky in qualifying round clash at the Victor Slovak Open 2012 on Thursday, September 6, in Slovakia.
The in-form Swedish shuttler, who remained incredible in all of his matches, continued showing remarkable performance and managed stop the advancement of Lubos by finishing off the battle in a crushing fashion.
The impressive Simon played with aggression and precision which helped him to remain dominant throughout the battle and he won it in straight games with a one-sided margin by taking just 23 minutes.
Lubos, on the other hand, could not show his brilliance at any stage in the whole competition as he had no answer to the perfect play of his opponent and ultimately bowed down to his Swedish rival with a stunning difference.
The spirited Simon played to his maximum potential from the starting rallies of first game and he easily managed an early lead on score board until the mid-game interval.
The local shuttler tried his best to play competitive badminton as he could not get the bird early which put him in all sorts of trouble on court.
In the meanwhile, Swedish shuttler continued his killing run in opening half and took a commanding lead until the mid-game interval.
The impressive Simon employed all of his shots kept his rival moving around in all corners of the court. He remained in dominating position all the way to grab the first set with a huge difference of 21-9.
The second game of this contest was almost identical as Lubos again failed to put up strong show in front of his mighty opponent who was quite comfortable in moving fast all around the court.
The Swedish player was on the driving seat and he managed an impressive gap until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Simon again put up great show without showing any respect to his local rival and snatched the second set with a one-sided score of 21-11.
Simon stamped his mark over Lubos in a killing fashion with a smashing 21-9 and 21-11 score on the board.
