Simon Mannering wants to savour victory at KC Stadium – Gillette Four Nations
While talking to media reporters, on Thursday, November 10, New Zealand’s forward, Simon Mannering, said that anything less than a victory at KC Stadium on Saturday against England will be reckoned a failure by his side.
New Zealand is ambitioning to lock horn with the series’ favourites, Australia, which is only possible if they bag win over England during the Saturday’s clash. The clash is the sudden-death encounter of the Gillette Four Nations Campaign; therefore, either
side is striving for its best to deliver its ultimate best against its contenders.
The clash has been speculated to be a tough one, because both sides are winners from last weekend’s double-header of Four Nations. England and New Zealand, both will try their best to oust the other team out of the remaining campaign, which will subsequently
book their berth in the title decider of the Four Nations against Kangaroos.
Mannering sat out their last weekend’s 36-0 win against the underdogs of the campaign, but his inclusion in the Stephen Kearney's line-up for Saturday’s game has been confirmed. The player is all set to create a lasting impact during the weekend’s game and
is all set to walk out victorious from the KC Stadium
While speaking about his targets, the player, who wishes to take his already brilliant career a notch-up, stated, “To get to the final (against Australia) would be nice and who knows what could happen after that. It was a new experience for myself (getting
to the NRL final), but it's a nice one to have. It was disappointing to lose it, but any game like that you can get positives out of.”
Mannering supports a record which speaks highly of his potential. According to the statistics, the player contributes on an average 32-tackle per game. He is also known for taking his side to the National Rugby League (NRL) Grand Final Glory.
Also, the player was part of the All Golds party that toured England to celebrate hundred years of rugby league in New Zealand.
Kearney reigned in as the head coach after Kiwis’ had toured across England and his credentials paralleled his praiseworthy ability. Under his lead Kiwis were guided to 2008 World Cup and 2010 Four Nations triumph.
While commenting about their weekend’s contenders, Mannering stated, “Any team can improve. I think England will be pretty disappointed with their Four Nations last year, but this year they seem to have got together.”
Mannering reckons that the English side shall not be taken easy at all, as it is studded with players who move around the field a lot and can create anything out of nothing at all.
