Simonsig out to dominate Williamhill.com Novices´ Chase
Simonsig will definitely be the one to beat in the Williamhill.com Novices´ Chase (Registered As The Wayward Lad Novices´ Steeple Chase) Grade 2 at Kempton in England on Thursday, December 27, 2012.
He has delivered some memorable performances for his team over the years and does not allow his opponents to settle down easily. In his professional career, he has never dropped out of the top-two even once, which shows what he is capable of achieving at
the highest level.
In fact, there was only one race, where Simonsig failed to win and ended up as a runner up. He is such a strong performer and does not make a lot of mistakes.
Therefore, it will be extremely difficult for the punters to gamble against him in the class-1 encounter, scheduled to kick off at 12:55 GMT.
Only five stallions have been attracted towards the race and they will have to battle over 2 miles on a heavy ground. There has been plenty of rain at Kempton over the past few days, so things will not be easy for anyone.
Every participant will try to produce a special run, as the winner will be awarded a cash prize of £13,326 in the end.
Simonsig will enter the competition with a starting price of 1 to 6, which clearly shows that the bookmakers have got a lot of faith in his abilities. They expect him to dominate the proceedings, so the punters will also place a lot of bets on him.
The six-year-old gelding has participated in a total of seven races in his career, winning six of them. His strike rate is on the higher side and he will be aiming to keep it that way after today’s race.
However, the Nicky Henderson’s trainee does not have a lot of experience in chase events, as he has appeared in just one race over fences. The result was a good one for him, as he stormed to the top comfortably.
Therefore, he will not be under any pressure at all and his opponents will need a lot of luck in order to beat him. He will be accompanied by veteran jockey, Barry Geraghty.
