Simple Guitar Question..... PLEASE ANSWER!?

Question

When you're strumming the guitar with a pick do you strum both up AND down or just down?? Also does anyone just have any tips for me? I'm just learning how to play...

Up and Down picking is acceptable.  Depending on what type of music you want to play, it may be necessary to play faster.  Also if your just starting out a small tip would be to start off slow.  Learn chords and bars and build your knowledge.  And I know it's a cliche but practice, practice, practice.

I've been playing for a few months now, and of course you do strum both up and down. i mean there's different rhythms and it changes how you strum, but of course you mostly strum up AND down!  

keep practicing, i mean you wont get better and you'll learn nothing unless your practice A LOT, i mean you cant just do it once! practice your scales, even though they aren't fun!
