Question:

Simple Partial Seizures?

Recently my boyfriend has been experiencing what he calls 'the weird thing'

It started when he was 10, and since then it had been coming back more frequently, although it is still only a few times a year. When it does come back he gets it a few times that day and maybe a day later.

He experiences a flash and extreme feelings of 'deja vu' , like everything is like a dream and he feels disconnected, and distorted. While this experience can be maybe only 30 seconds, he after wards feels immediately nauseous and scared, and may throw up.

It is out of character as he is intelligent, bubbly and thoughtful. If it helps, he has a past history of slight Tourettes Syndrome.

After his episodes sometimes he feels it might keep coming back and he is worried. I really, really want to help him.

He sometimes mentions that anxiety or excitement may trigger it, and that Weed doesn't help.

From research it seems that Simple Partial Seizures might be it, but I was wondering if anyone out here has it, and do his symptoms match up?

Should he see a Neurologist?

Thank you!

  1. It may be that he is having mild epileptic seizures.  I had similar symptoms from a head injury that I received in an automobile accident.  He should see a neurologist and find out what's happening before he becomes a full blown epileptic.

Tell your boyfriend to lay off the weed because it contains hallucinogenic properties.  It will only do him more harm.
