Well, I just got out of geometry (in june) and now I am going into Algebra 2. So I have not done algebra in about a year and do not remember any of the basic rules to solve equations. I've tried foiling but I always get a weird answer...even tried combining the like terms, but still can't get it. I would appreciate it if someone could solve this and show work =)

4c-3 (c-8) = 47

  1. if it is:

    4c - 3(c-8) = 47

    4c - 3c - (-24) = 47

    c + 24 = 47

    c = 23

    but if the problem is:

    (4c - 3)(c - 8) = 47

    than.. thats a harder problem XD

  2. 4c-3c+24=47

    c+24=47

    c=23
