Simple decorations and crafts for a girl's first college apartment room?

This is my first apartment, and I am on a low spending budget (aka spending diet) I want to use a new bulliten board that is plain and decorate it some how (help please!!) and I am up for any cute & simple decoration that I can personalize or make myself. This can be any type of room decoration (hanging or sitting) :)

If you have any ideas please share them, I would love to use a lot of pictures and stuff that apeals to a 19-21 year old. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!

Well, I've always said painting can make a world of difference. It can spice up a plain room and it's CHEAP! What I think would be cool is to find a motif and then make a stencil out of it by using cardboard. Then, you can take some silver paint (can get at any craft store like Joann Fabrics or Michaels Arts & Crafts) and paint it onto various places on your wall.

As far as the bulletin board, try stapling on strips of ribbon that run criss cross on the board (staple on back). then you can place your photos, notes, etc. on it.

Ross & Marshalls is a great place to go to buy pictures, mirrors, picture frames, etc. for under $20.00!!! And they are usually very good quality. Or you could by a pack of those long mini tree branches ($5.00 at Joann's) and then put it in a decorative vase.

I also love to decorate but am on a low budget. If you saw my house, you would never know! All it takes is a little imagination and an open mind. Most importantly, have fun! :O)

Sheets..............

Use them for curtains, bulletin board cover, sofa covers, chair covers, tablecloths etc.  

White paint:  

Old furniture painted white looks great.  Buy some furniture at thrift stores and paint it.

Rubber stamps:

Stamp the walls, the furniture, the sheets, etc with flowers, leaves whatever you like.

Baskets:

Store everything in baskets, painted or unpainted.
