75 Liters of ethane gas are completely burned by air at STP conditions. How many liters of carbon dioxide are produced?

i got the equation: C2H6 (g) 2O2 (g) >> 2CO2 (g) 6H (g)

what do i do next???? how would you solve it? Are my phases of matter correct in the equation?

  1. 2C2H6 (g)+ O2 (g)>> 4 CO2 (g)+ 6 H2O (g)

    the ratio between C2H6 and CO2 is 2 : 4

    Volume CO2 = 75 x 2 = 150 L

  2. NO, the equation for combustion has products of Carbon dioxide and water.

  3. Its 3 H2 to start with.

Ok - answer these questions in order.

What is the relationship between moles and volume? (PV=nRT)

How many moles of Ethane do you have?

HOw many moles of CO2 are produced?

How many L of CO2 are produced.

(It will probably be easiest if you keep things as variables until the very end.)

  4. C2H6 WITH OXYGEN BURNS TO CO2 AND H2O

    2C2H6 + 7O2 >> 4CO2 + 6 H2O

VOLUME OF CO2 IS TWICE THE ORIGINAL VOLUME OF ETHANE OR 150 L
