Simple govt question?

ok..so for my paper, i have to write about whether or not california should return to the part time legislature. my question is..what's the other choice? is it state legislature? and if it is..can a state legislature be in a part time legislature?

Two options- full time, part time.  You are guaranteed a republican form of government by the US Constitution, so no legislature is not an option.

Oregon, the tiny state to your immediate north has a part-time legislature.  It meets every 2 years.  They are trying to move to annual because it can't handle the work load.

California is much larger, vastly more opoulated, and has at least 4X the annual budget.  I don't see how your legislature can function on a biennial schedule, Arnold or no Arnold.
