Question:

Simple html? Anchors?

I have been working on an index of my website to help people wanting to go straight to a particular topic instead of going through the pages. I have paragraphs of info and want for the index to link to each topic on one page instead of linking to different pages, for I know how to link to different pages, just not to different paragraphs of text.

I was told that this technique is a html anchor, but I am not sure and I don't know how to do it at all.

Example:

Index:

*Payment

**Pricing

***Turnaround times

*Payment is due after order confirmation is completed. Blah blah blah.

**Pricing is based upon the add-ons that you select in the order form. Blah Blah Blah.

***Turnaround times are just an estimate and will be provided and confirmed before payment. Blah Blah Blah.

  1. http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links...

read the target atribute and anchor atribute section

w3schools is a great place to learn html/css/xhtml/php etc.

  2. i agree with hcaelaxe (or whatever)...read the manual..

But for 10 points i will tell you.

put this where the destination is...

    <a name="descriptiveWord"></a>

Then set your link up to that destination like this:

    <a href="#descriptiveWord">click here!</a>

    Use whatever for the descriptiveWord.
